Richard Wilson is an attorney at Siprut PC. His practice is focused on complex commercial and class action litigation, with an emphasis on consumer protection. Mr. Wilson’s practice also encompasses whistle blower actions under the False Claims Act, including Medicare and Medicaid fraud. He frequently litigates cases against the largest and most well-represented corporations in the world.

Mr. Wilson’s litigation practice involves cutting-edge developments in both the law and technology. Mr. Wilson has litigated data breach cases, product defect and mislabeling cases brought under state consumer protection statutes, and cases brought under the Telephone Consumer Protection Act. With his whistleblower cases, Mr. Wilson has helped expose and defeat complex schemes to defraud the government of millions of dollars. In addition to his class-action and whistleblower practices, Mr. Wilson has also handled business disputes and high-stakes personal injury matters.

Mr. Wilson has substantial experience at the trial and appellate level, in both federal and state courts. Mr. Wilson has taken and defended depositions, including expert witness depositions, and has elicited witness testimony in court. He has negotiated settlements with opposing counsel and overseen the administration of class-wide settlements. Mr. Wilson’s practice has placed him at the forefront of e-discovery issues, including issues involving social media. In his first year of practice, Mr. Wilson was selected as an “Emerging Lawyer” by Leading Lawyers—a distinction awarded to the top 2% of lawyers who are age 40 or younger or who have practiced for under ten years.

Prior to joining Siprut PC, Mr. Wilson externed with the United States Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit and the Circuit Court of Cook County, Chancery Division. Mr. Wilson graduated magna cum laude from Chicago-Kent College of Law, where he served as Executive Articles Editor of the Chicago-Kent Law Review and was elected to the Order of the Coif. While at Chicago-Kent, Mr. Wilson earned three CALI Awards for achieving the highest grade in his class, and was named a Kent Legal Scholar.
